How Rehoming Works

Download the Benji mobile app and create an account.

Navigate to the 'Rehome Your Pet' page and create a profile to get started. You'll need to provide basic information about yourself and your pet, including their name, age, breed, and a few photos.

Next, add information about your pet, including their personality, habits, and any medical conditions they may have. This information will help potential adopters get to know your pet.

Once your pet's profile is complete, it will be posted and seen by thousands of adopters on the Benji app!

The search feature in our app leads potential adopters straight to your pet's profile, where they can apply to adopt your pet using our Pet Adoption Application Form.

You will receive a notification you when you have a new application to review.

Choose the most loving new home for your pet by clicking on "Accept", then contact the adopter to set up a meet-and-greet.

If you find a potential adopter you'd like to meet, arrange a time and place to meet them in person. This is a great opportunity to get to know each other and see if your pet would be a good fit for their household.

Remember, always meet with the adopter in a public place where you and your pet feel comfortable and safe (for example, in a local park). If you both agree to move forward, you may finalize the adoption by both completing Benji's Pet Adoption Agreement. You'll be able to transfer ownership of your pet, and the adopter will receive all the necessary information they need to take care of your pet.

After the adoption, keep in touch with the adopter and check in with your pet. This helps ensure that your pet is happy and well-cared for in their new home.

You may want to bring your new pet to a licensed veterinarian to make sure that the pet is healthy.
